More about me:
Anesti Vega was born in New Orleans and had traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe shortly thereafter. After settling down in Florida in 1987, he was involved in many sports including soccer and wrestling.
At the age of 12, Anesti was exposed to the martial arts through a combination of the video game Mortal Kombat, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Bruce Lee films. While his friends were learning button combinations for the game, Anesti was in the backyard on the trampoline practicing the real techniques. After showing a solid dedication to the martial arts, his mother enrolled him in the local Tae Kwon Do academy. In high school, Anesti met a martial artist by the name of Marrese Crump. He introduced Anesti to many other different styles of martial arts including Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kali, Capoeira and Kung Fu to name a few.
Upon graduation, Anesti entered into the U.S. Army as an Infantryman; and later on reclassified to an Intelligence Analyst. While on active duty, he served under the 101st Airborne Division where he served tours in Kosovo, Macedonia, and Afghanistan. Upon changing jobs, he took up position at 7th Special Forces Group and worked in Columbia and Venezuela. Anesti attended military schools such as Infantry School, The Army Intelligence Academy, Airborne School and Air Assault School; and was a certified Hand to Hand Combat Instructor for his unit.
After fulfilling his duty in the Army, Anesti returned to Florida and picked up his training with Marrese where he left off. During this time, Anesti was able to meet and train in fight choreography with some of the most highly trained and experienced professionals. This newfound knowledge and training helped skyrocket Anesti's motivation to work in the film industry.
Acting was Anesti’s first trade in the industry, helping to build a network of like-minded people as well as a reputation for being a true professional. He quickly moved into providing technical direction for military/tactical scenes and services in stuntwork and fight choreography. After realizing his true potential, Anesti transitioned into producing and directing his own work.
Anesti currently owns Elamintal Multimedia, specializing in film/video production, web development, photography, guerrilla marketing and more. He also serves as an Administrator and Coordinator to Crump Dojo and is an advocate for the Action genre in independent film.
When Anesti is not working in film or training in martial arts, he spends time meditating, studying philosophy and history, playing poker and traveling.

We just had our January meeting a little over a week ago but have a couple lined up for next month, including a networking-type thing in Tampa at Fly and one here in St. Pete that will be a little less serious.
We're also planning an Open Wall Night at Studio@620 in March.
