Hello,
I am an MFA candidate specializing in Media Design Management. For my thesis I am conducting a research on Creative Team Leadership. I believe that leaders of creative teams can do a better job if they have a concrete and up-to-date picture of the important leadership issues which impact their work and their careers. You and your personal experience of work and leadership will help to create this picture; what it is - and what you think it should be. Only with your help this research can be successful.

This survey should only take few minutes of your time, and your answers will be completely anonymous.

As thanks for your help, if you would like to receive a copy of summary reports as they become available, please email me at blanka@blankacreative.com.

If you:

•Spend too much time learning lines…

•Want to move into more lucrative Speaking Roles…

•Still get nervous at auditions…

•Took the course but want a refresher…

This Weekend is for YOU!

Instant Line Learning & Cold Reading Weekend

September 26th & 27th in Sarasota

Memorize 3 to 5 pages in 15 Minutes!!

Overcome The Actor's Number One Fear in ONE WEEKEND!

Memorizing your lines is the single greatest advantage you can have going into an audition, yet most actors don't have a reliable technique for memorizing lines quickly and effectively.

If you have learned that "memorization is difficult" or "you are a slow learner" or "getting the 'jist' of the scene is good enough" or any of the other common beliefs that keep actors from learning their lines, then you are probably not booking the types of roles needed to gain a reputation as a dependable and competent actor.

In ONE WEEKEND, you can learn how to memorize 3 to 5 pages VERBATIM in less than 15 minutes. This technique has been taught at KVG Acting for 20 years and many of the 'bookers' in Central Florida use it religiously. Based on the Weatherford Technique, created by New York soap opera contract player, Russ Weatherford, 'The Instant Line Learning Technique' was developed from several undisputable facts:

•An actor who is thinking about his lines CANNOT be thinking and feeling what the CHARACTER is thinking and feeling.

•Actors who have their lines memorized consistently do better in auditions.

•'Improvising' lines on a set makes matching and editing a nightmare.

•Your acting profession will be much more enjoyable and successful when you know how to memorize quickly and effectively

What's the 'secret' to memorization? Simple: MAKE IT A GAME!

•Do you dread having t0 memorize lines?

•What if you NEVER had to memorize lines again?

•What if you could 'play games' instead of memorizing?

•What if learning lines actually became FUN?

•What if the process of learning lines helped in making strong character choices?

•What if you actually LOOKED FORWARD to LEARNING THE LINES as much as you do PERFORMING them?

In One Weekend you will learn several LINE LEARNING GAMES that will enable you to memorize 3 to 5 pages VERBATIM within 15 minutes, AND EVEN FASTER WITH PRACTICE!!

I am a MFA student at IADT in Tampa, and I'm currently working on a research paper for Design Team Leadership.
Would you be so kind and answer these questions, getting feedback directly from the industry professionals is crucial to the accurate outcome of this research, and getting the real world opinion.

1 - As an Art/Creative Director, how do you inspire creative thinking in your team?

2 - What is the best leadership trick you have learned and use today?

3 - Do you delegate certain tasks to the same team members or do you give everybody a chance?

4 - Developing the creative department is not simple, do you choose your creative members based on experience or diversity in skills?

5 - Any advice you would offer to a new art director from your experience?

kind regards,
Blanka

This is a last moment reminder to bring your headshot/resume' to Sarasota News & Books www.sarasotanewsandbooks.com
to give to Lori Wyman, CSA. She'll be there from about 6-8PM Friday night and will be doing some mock casting. This is a great opportunity to meet a prominent Casting Director for TV & Films!

Best,

I wanted to give you an advanced heads up on a great event and opportunity for actors in the Sarasota area. Lori Wyman, CSA and owner of Wyman Casting in Miami and I have teamed up for a special weekend workshop the last weekend in May. I am coordinating things and will let you know(if you want) more details as they become available. The first thing I can tell you is that Lori will be doing a booksigning (The Organic Actor - Secrets to Auditioning for Film and TV) starting at 6:30PM at Sarasota News & Books in downtown Sarasota on May 29. She will also be doing the workshop for two whole days on Auditioning as well. This is limited to 16 actors as there will be a lot of on camera work. Lori is keeping the price the same as her price in Miami - $275 for the workshop. I am working on a good location as I write this.
Here is more info on Lori Wyman:

Lori Wyman, an Emmy award nominee and ARTIOS award winning casting director and author, is committed to helping actors achieve their dreams and goals of pursuing their passion for acting. A member of the Casting Society of America, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and the National Speakers Association she is considered one of the top casting directors in the entire Southeastern United States. Most recently she cast the Emmy winning HBO movie entitled, "RECOUNT," and the coming of age "Bart Got A Room" starring William H. Macy. She did the Florida casting for "Marley and Me" which was the number one Christmas 2008 film, the new Jim Carrey movie entitled "I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS," the Sam Mendes project entitled "Farlanders," and she did some casting on the George Clooney movie, "Men Who Stare at Goats." Lori continues to cast top notch projects shooting in and around Florida to help actors continue to follow their passion.
Her book: "The Organic Actor, Insider's Secrets to Auditioning for Film and Television" is now available through authorhouse.com, amazon.com

If you have any questions or just don't want to hear from me anymore, let me know.

I agree. These groups can be really helpful in figuring out how to go about doing what you need to be doing.

I could use some feedback now, for example. We've just made this promo "teaser" for our upcoming show (Gilgamesh), and I'm wondering how best to use it (http://theatreanddance.arts.usf.edu/default.asp?n=currentseason). Ideas?
