been a while since i've seen a non-band music video.
mtv stopped playing, y'know, videos.
i blame hallucination/rave "visuals" b/c it makes anything looped with trippy effects into a live video... sorta.. not really. kmfdm made some awesome stuff like.. over a decade ago, and i seem to remember thrill kill cult's cooler than jesus video rocked. and if you missed the prodigy's smack my bitch up you need to go to youtube now! but from an electronic producer's point of view, the music video is a difficult wax ball to chew and spit out. don't get me wrong though, with the right vision it CAN be done!

and not to be a downer but it's really really hard to get rid of analog rack gear... unless you got an old moog or a waldorf or a virus... i mean, everything that used to be a $229 19" rack mounted piece is now a $49 vst plug-in, and most of those you can find and download for free... and most producers who play "live" (i.e. jackal and hyde, hybrid) don't really, they play off dat and bob their heads and use a $2k keyboard like a video game sound effect machine. it's sad, really.
'tis why i've been digging swedish/norwegian death metal lately. :)
i miss musicians.
