Job Description:
This role will be responsible for numerous graphics process and automation related projects in terms of defining and implementing the enterprise-wide patterns, standards, technologies, and processes. Develop and implement strategies for integration between existing applications and new development, reusable services, consolidation & modernization of systems. Develop technical strategy and requirements from business planning and technical meetings and provide technical leadership. Develops system architecture and design from conceptualization, documents and integrates with legacy systems, develops and publishes roadmap of integration services, and analyzes emerging frameworks and technologies to recommend the best solutions.
MANAGING WORK:
• Forward engineering of new applications and systems, from conceptualization, to published services specifications, security standards, middleware domains, etc.
• Evaluates existing environment and compares against best practices to develop services integration standards, including security, event logging, SOAP standards, attribute naming, etc.
• Reverse engineer and document existing systems as required
• Create and maintain an enterprise directory of services and interfaces
• Actively cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with key technical and business stakeholders to collect & disseminate knowledge
• Mentor developers on use of code templates, services, single-sign on, database access, and related concepts and technologies
• Create and publish coding standards (e.g. SOA, WSDL, Language, Graphics, DB Access, etc.) and train delivery teams on using the standards
• Participate in code review sessions to ensure adherence to standards
• Assist with gathering user requirements, analyzing business process flow, and collaborating with Business Process modeling team as needed
• Plan, organize, and execute medium-size projects
• Design, document, and test development tasks as required
• Evaluate development emerging development tools & technologies, best practices, security issues, and advise management of recommendations
• Other duties as required
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
EXPERIENCE:
• 6+ years in an architecture or lead developer role
• Must have had lead role in design and development of cross-functional enterprise projects
SPECIAL SKILLS:
• Strong analytical skills
• 5+ years with one or more of the following modern technology focus areas:
o Java technologies, including J2EE, JMS, JDBC, Spring, Hibernate, Wicket
o Application containers such as MSAS, Weblogic, JBoss
o Service oriented architecture, SOAP, REST, ESB
o Graphics tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash
o Graphics development and automation, such as YUI, Flex, XSL-FO, AIR
• Strong experience with Oracle & MS SQL Server
• Strong experience with UML (Activity, Sequence, Object Relational, etc.)
• Strong experience with implementing design patterns (e.g. DAO, MVC, etc.)
• Strong experience integrating security technologies (SAML, WS-Security, LDAP, SSO)
• Strong experience implementing technology change throughout the organization
• Understanding of network topologies
• Experience facilitating Joint-application-design sessions
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Good organization skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Able to effectively communicate technical matters to executive management
